NAGA Midwest Grappling Championship 2010 Results

Countryside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would like to proudly announce the results of our competition team at the NAGA Midwest Grappling Championship.  We had another excellent performance, bringing home 10 gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals.  Spearheading our team was our instructor, Professor Carlos Lemos Jr, who won both his black belt gi and expert nogi divisions with several excellent submissions (including a wicked kneebar against a much heavier wrestler).  Jon Tutaj also put on a submission clinic, taking first in purple belt gi and second in expert nogi (behind Prof. Lemos, with whom he had a competitor's concession) with multiple armlocks and triangles.  Kyle Comstock won three fights to take first in his nogi division.  Russ Manney took second in nogi and third in white belt gi.  James Dixon won first in white belt gi and second in his nogi division.  Josh Montgomery and Tommy Mikowski also competed, having good performances as well.

Our teens team showed exceptional talent, as each member who competed medaled.  Our gold medalists were Stevan Glodic, Danny Bergholz, Alex Gomez, and Sam Scott.  Our silver medalist was Carlos Aquilar, and Matt Pena bronzed in nogi.

We are extremely proud of all our NAGA competitors, and recognize that our success is due to the hard work that we put in, under the direction of Professor Carlos Lemos Jr.  Our record in this and past events proves one thing: We Produce Champions!
